Journey to Mount Bromo

The best view of Bromo.

Several days ago, I, my friend and my friends of my friend, went to mount Bromo. It is one of the popular tourism sites in East Java Indonesia. It was very amazing after five-hours-trip through
spiral roads. The Mount Bromo is located in a place popular with its mountain range,  Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia.

Before the sunrise

We arrived about 4 p.m at a village where Tengger Clans live. The cold air struck my nose directly, it's better to wear your warm clothes, but if you don't prepare one, you can buy from the sellers with reasonable  price, don't forget to bargain it first.

It was still far from Mount Bromo actually, we had to take a trip almost an hour to reach the best place to enjoy the sunrise. The road is very challenging, so it needs special car like Jeep. If you don't prepare it yet, don't worry, you can rent it. Along the way, you can see the beautiful scenery of the the town's light.

No sunrise because of fog

The air made my skin gets numb because of cold. The time we had waited for almost there, yeah Bromo's Sunrise! Unfortunately, the fog was so thick because it was rainy season, so we had to pass the best time of sunrise. We had to be satisfied with foggy background to take photograph.

When the sun shone warmer and the fog finally blown away, we could see the best view from this place, yuph, the mount Bromo and Semeru!


After take some photographs, we had to  go down along the street with our pick up car to to go to savannah near from Mount Bromo. The Road was very challenging, so if you were not skilled enough, you'd better go there with the professional driver from your travel agency.

I don't know why it is called Teletubbies' Savannah by local folks, I think it's because the hill and the savannah are looked like in Children TV Show, Teletubbies. It made me want to laugh actually.

Pasir Berbisik

After that, we passed Pasir Bebisik, we don't know why it's called like that, but we finally know because it produce like noisy sound in the day.

The most hard time was when we had to hike the Mount Bromo to see the active cauldron from the top. I almost surrender, I was exhausted. Actually, we could rent a horse to reach the top, but we didn't.

Oh yeah, there is a Hindhu Temple near Mount Bromo. This is strange enough actually where there is such a big temple in the middle of desert and mountain like this. However, I heard that the local folks built it to make them save from active volcano by praying for it. Unfortunately, the temple is not opened for tourists.

Some tips for you the enjoy your trip at Bromo :

• Prepare your warm clothes to reach the point view
• Eventough you can't see the sunrise, don't leave it first because you can enjoy the wonderful view of Bromo after the fog dissapear.
• don't go to the mount Bromo in early day, because usually it's foggy and you can't enjoy the Savannah and the Best view of couldron.
• Prepare your scarf or something else to protect you from the dust in sunny day.
• If you think you are not strong enough to reach the top of Bromo, it's better for you to rent a horse.
• If you go with many people, it's better for you to rent a Pick Up car than a Jeep, because it's cheaper.
